The region of Alsace possesses an effective transport infrastructure providing excellent access to both the European and Global marketplace.
- Alsace has two international airports :
The EuroAirport, , the international airport for Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg,

- An airport for business travellers :
Located just 1km from Colmar town centre, Colmar-Houssen airport specialises in business travel and tourist flights.

- Easy connections to the European road network :
The A35 motorway links Strasbourg to Basel and then on to the South of France, Italy and Spain via the A36 motorway at Mulhouse. This motorway also connects Belfort, Lyon and Paris.
On the German side of the border, the major A5 motorway (HAmburg-FRAnkfurt-BAsel) links up with the Ruhr to the North, but also connects with the road network serving Central Europe. Heading South, it offers access to Switzerland and Northern Italy.

- River transport -the turntable for combined transport :
The river Rhine is the busiest commercial waterway in the world. The ports of Antwerp and Rotterdam are accessible in under 48 hours from the Alsatian ports of Strasbourg, Colmar and Mulhouse. Taken together, these ports are the second most important river freight terminal in France.
Modern, efficient port facilities ensure that Alsace is right at the heart of an internationally-important network of waterways.

- A key part of the European high-speed rail network :
The TGV Est-Européen provides high-speed connections between the main cities in Alsace and Paris :
Paris-Strasbourg in 2 hours 30 minutes
Paris-Mulhouse in 2 hours 30 minutes
From 2011 on, the TGV Rhin-Rhône will offer a high-speed North-South rail link. The line will also connect with Switzerland : Zurich will be a 1 hour 30 minute journey from Alsace.
Mulhouse-Lyon in 2 hours 50 minutes
The high-speed link is soon to take on a Europe-wide dimension, spreading into Germany, thanks to a new rail connection to the German ICE high-speed rail network. Munich will be accessible from Strasbourg in 3 hours 40 minutes. By 2015, The TGV Est Européen will provide a direct rail link from Strasbourg to Stuttgart, Munich, Vienna and Bratislava.
