A strategic European location
- A dynamic cross-border region….
Alsace is part of the tri-national Metropolitan region of the Upper Rhine (Franco-German-Swiss) that links parts of the German Länder of the Rhineland-Palatinate and Baden-Württemberg, together with the Swiss cantons of Basel Stadt and Basel Landschaft.
This area boasts a population of around 6 million and is one of the wealthiest in Europe, with a GDP of 147 billion euros.
Alsace therefore has a very advantageous location, right in the heart of Europe and part of the continent’s biggest urban arc stretching from London to Milan via Switzerland.
Some 60% of Europe’s population and 75% of Europe’s disposable income lies within a radius of 800km (equivalent to a one hour flight).

Furthermore, Basel and neighbouring Zurich, one of the world’s top banking and financial centres, are real assets that will help ensure that the Upper Rhine region has a bright future ahead of it.
