The Regio du Haut-Rhin
This organisation aims to promote cross-border links in the Rhine river valley area
- The Regio du Haut-Rhin :
1965 : The Regio du Haut-Rhin is founded in the shape of a Committee of the Société Industrielle de Mulhouse.
1976 : The Regio du Haut-Rhin adopts not-for-profit status.
2008 : The Regio du Haut-Rhin is chaired by Jean Klinkert, who is also Director of the Agence Départementale du Tourisme du Haut-Rhin (Departmental Tourism Bureau). The General Secretariat is run by Laurence Becker, chargée de mission with the Comité d’Action économique du Haut-Rhin (CAHR) in Mulhouse under the terms of an agreement between the CAHR, the Regio du Haut-Rhin and the Conseil Général du Haut-Rhin. The Regio du Haut-Rhin is a long-standing partner of the REGIO BASILIENSIS and the RegioGesellschaft Schwarzwald-Oberrhein. The areas covered by these three bodies come together in the RegioTriRhena. The not-for-profit organisation of the same name is governed by the three national Regios, in both legal and practical terms :

- Our goals :
To provide information on cross-border issues and encourage contacts between private and public sector actors interested in boosting the profile and role of the Département du Haut-Rhin, and therefore also of Alsace, within the Upper Rhine region.
To encourage and provide guidance for cross-border projects and meetings, especially in the fields of business, training, tourism and the arts.
To promote the spread of French-German bilingualism and highlight the importance of regional dialects of German.
To participate in debates and discussions conducted by working parties and experts from the Conférence du Rhin Supérieur in order to represent and promote the interests of the Haut-Rhin and the RegioTriRhena.
- Our activities :
Breakfast meetings with specialists centred on specific topics, designed to inform and provide opportunities for discussion
The chance for businesspeople to meet with colleagues from other companies working in the same field, in partnership with business networks and German and Swiss business development agencies
Visits to businesses in France, Germany and Switzerland
Conferences, lectures and question and answer sessions on current cross-border issues
Meetings between French, German and Swiss children
Statutory meetings to decide on the upcoming programme of events
Press releases to inform our members and regional media outlets of events and initiatives of interest to the general public
